Le leader du parti Pitit Dessalines, Jean-Charles MOÏSE, a été la cible d’une tentative d’agression, ce dimanche 4 mai 2025, lors d’un rassemblement tenu à Saint-Raphaël, dans le département du Nord. Cette rencontre, organisée pour renouer le dialogue avec la population après plusieurs mois d’absence sur le terrain, a rapidement tourné à la confusion.
Alors qu’il s’adressait à une centaine de personnes, l’accueil s’est révélé partagé d’un côté, des applaudissements; et de l’autre, des huées et des insultes. À la fin de son discours, la tension est montée d’un cran. Des individus infiltrés dans la foule ont tenté de l’attaquer physiquement, semant la panique sur les lieux.
Grâce à l’intervention rapide de ses agents de sécurité, épaulés par des membres de la Brigade de Sécurité des Aires Protégées (BSAP), Jean-Charles MOÏSE a pu être exfiltré sous des tirs de sommation. Toutefois, selon les premières informations, plusieurs personnes auraient été blessées, certaines par balles, d’autres suite à des jets de pierres et à la répression brutale menée par la BSAP.
Cet incident démontre le climat de méfiance grandissant de la population à l’égard de certaines figures de l’opposition haïtienne, jadis acclamées pour la virulence de leurs prises de position, notamment durant le mandat du défunt président Jovenel MOÏSE.
