Faisant l’objet de multiples menaces de mort, Jacques Paulson Raphaël, agent 2 de la Police Nationale d’Haïti (PNH), a été contraint de quitter le pays pour sauver sa peau. Toutefois, il dit craindre pour la sécurité des membres de sa famille qui vivent encore dans le pays.
En effet, tout a commencé un 8 janvier 2022. Le policier Jacques Paulson Raphaël, détaché à la sécurité personnelle de Joseph Lambert, Président du Sénat haïtien d’alors, a été enlevé puis séquestré pendant plus de cinq (5) jours. Il aura, par la suite, recouvré sa liberté le 13 janvier 2022, après que sa famille ait versé une forte rançon (plus d’un million de gourdes) aux ravisseurs.
Depuis sa libération, l’agent de police a vécu des moments terrifiants avec les traumatismes de séquestration et les séquelles. Qui pis est, quelques mois après, des individus non identifiés l’ont menacé de mort ainsi que sa famille. En Haïti, le fait même d’être policier fait déjà de lui une cible pour les gangs armés.
« J’ai passé plusieurs mois à la maison après mon enlèvement. Suite aux différentes menaces venant d’horizons divers, parfois, j’avais même peur de me rendre su mon lieu de travail. Car je ne savais pas d’où elles venaient, ces multiples menaces », confie le policier dans une interview exclusive accordée à la rédaction de Clin D’œil Info (CDI).
Finalement en 2023, il a réussi à s’enfuir, en catimini, la capitale d’Haïti, pour échapper à la mort et à ces menaces. L’ancien agent de l’Unité de Sécurité du Premier Ministre (USPM) se voit obliger de vivre loin de sa famille, juste pour sauver sa peau.
À titre de rappel, des bandits lourdement armés avaient enlevé, au cours de ce rapt, deux policiers affectés à la sécurité de Joseph Lambert, Président du Sénat d’alors, dont Jacques Paulson Raphaël, ainsi que le chauffeur de l’Animal politique. Cet événement tragique s’est produit vers 7h PM, à la Première Ruelle Rivière, non loin de l’Université de Port-au-Prince. Les victimes étaient à bord d’une Jeep Toyota Land cruiser.
