Une mobilisation policière exceptionnelle est en cours en Haïti, alors que le pays s’apprête à vivre une journée à haut risque. Le 7 février, date symbolique marquant la fin de la dictature duvaliériste en 1986, est souvent une période de tensions sociopolitiques. Face aux menaces potentielles, les forces de l’ordre sont déployées jusqu’au 9 février pour éviter toute escalade de violence.
Une date hautement symbolique
Le 7 février 1986, Jean-Claude DUVALIER quittait Haïti sous la pression d’un soulèvement populaire, mettant fin à 29 ans de régime duvaliériste. Depuis, cette date est associée à des revendications politiques et à des mobilisations populaires. Elle est également considérée comme une échéance constitutionnelle pour la passation de pouvoir présidentiel.
Parallèlement, ce 7 février marque quatre mois depuis que Leslie VOLTAIRE a pris la tête du Conseil présidentiel de transition (CPT). Nommé le 7 octobre 2024, il est chargé de conduire le pays vers des élections prévues en novembre 2025, avec pour objectif l’investiture d’un président élu le 7 février 2026.
Les autorités haïtiennes s’efforcent d’organiser des élections générales autour du 15 novembre 2025, malgré les défis sécuritaires persistants. Si ce calendrier est respecté, un président élu devrait prendre ses fonctions le 7 février 2026, marquant ainsi un retour à l’ordre constitutionnel.
Une journée sous haute surveillance dans un pays sous tension
Face aux risques d’attaques de gangs armés, les autorités ont mis en place un important dispositif de sécurité. La Police Nationale d’Haïti (PNH) est en état d’alerte depuis le 5 février et restera mobilisée jusqu’au 9 février. Des unités spéciales ont été déployées à des points stratégiques pour prévenir toute tentative de déstabilisation.
Malgré les efforts des autorités, la situation sécuritaire en Haïti reste préoccupante. Les gangs armés continuent de contrôler plusieurs quartiers de la capitale et menacent la stabilité du pays. La Mission Multinationale de Soutien à la Sécurité (MMSS), censée soutenir la PNH, peine à contenir la violence en raison d’un déploiement limité et de ressources insuffisantes.
Par ailleurs, des organisations politiques ont appelé à des manifestations, notamment contre des projets de révision constitutionnelle. Cette conjoncture ajoute une tension supplémentaire à un climat déjà fragile.
Alors que le pays entre dans une période critique, la population est appelée à la prudence. Les forces de l’ordre assurent qu’elles feront tout pour garantir la sécurité et éviter une escalade des violences. Reste à savoir si ces mesures seront suffisantes pour maintenir le calme dans un contexte aussi incertain.
