Cinq présumés gangsters abattus et plusieurs arrestations lors d’une opération de la PNH à Tabarre
La Police Nationale d’Haïti (PNH) a mené une opération musclée le jeudi 15 août 2024 à l’hôtel « Anvayi » situé à Carrefour Rita, dans la commune de Tabarre. Celle-ci a conduit à la mort de cinq présumés membres de gangs. Parmi les personnes tuées figure Cassales Blanco, alias « Gwo Fanfan », présenté comme le propriétaire de l’hôtel et un évadé du Pénitencier national. Selon le porte-parole de la PNH, Michel-Ange Louis-Jeune, « Gwo Fanfan » était membre du gang « 400 mawozo », de la coalition criminelle « Viv ansanm ».
Lors de cette opération, les forces de l’ordre ont arrêté 15 autres individus, parmi lesquels trois policiers et deux journalistes, Banatte Daniel et Richelson Cénéjuste. Les arrestations ont été effectuées après la découverte d’armes à feu et de munitions dans le périmètre de l’hôtel, ainsi qu’à l’intérieur d’une Toyota Land Cruiser, propriété de l’État haïtien qui était en possession des journalistes.
Les forces de l’ordre ont saisi un fusil de marque Ruger, deux pistolets Glock 19 et une importante quantité de munitions, plusieurs téléphones portables et 10 250 gourdes en liquide. Les journalistes interpellés avaient également en leur possession des chéquiers et autres documents.

Les suspects arrêtés lors de cette opération sont actuellement détenus à la Direction Centrale de la Police Judiciaire (DCPJ), en attendant leur comparution par devant la justice. Cette intervention s’inscrit dans le cadre des efforts continus de la PNH pour lutter contre les activités criminelles à travers le pays.
Les autorités promettent de poursuivre sans relâche leur lutte contre les gangs, soulignant que de telles opérations ne sont qu’une étape dans une campagne plus vaste visant à rétablir la sécurité et l’ordre dans les zones les plus affectées du pays. Les suspects arrêtés à Tabarre pourraient fournir des informations cruciales pour démanteler d’autres réseaux criminels encore actifs, marquant ainsi une avancée significative dans la lutte contre l’insécurité en Haïti.
