À Livres en folie, le Premier Ministre FILS-AIMÉ mise sur la culture pour rebâtir Haïti
Le Premier ministre Alix Didier FILS-AIMÉ a visité, le jeudi 19 juin 2025, le Collège des Frères de Pétion-Ville, où s’est tenue la 31e édition de Livres en folie. Sa présence, bien plus que symbolique, s’est voulue un geste de reconnaissance envers les auteurs et organisateurs de cet événement culturel majeur.
Lors de son passage, le Chef du Gouvernement a rencontré plusieurs écrivains venus signer leurs ouvrages. Il a salué leur engagement dans un pays en quête de repères, affirmant que « la jeunesse haïtienne est affamée de sens, d’idées et de mots ». Il a exprimé son admiration pour ces jeunes lecteurs qu’il a vus nombreux, curieux et attentifs, échangeant directement avec les auteurs.
Dans une déclaration à la presse, notamment à Le Nouvelliste et à Magik 9, le Premier Ministre a souligné que la culture constitue une composante essentielle de la reconstruction nationale. Il a qualifié les organisateurs de Livres en folie de « porteurs de lumière » et de « militants silencieux de la culture », qui maintiennent cet événement vivant depuis plus de trois décennies malgré un contexte difficile.
Sur le plan politique, il a rappelé les trois priorités de la transition : la sécurité, la réforme constitutionnelle et l’organisation d’élections crédibles. Pour lui, ces objectifs ne peuvent être atteints sans le soutien de la culture. « Dans un pays frappé d’incertitude, la littérature n’est pas un luxe. Elle est une nécessité. Elle permet de rêver, de tenir debout, ensemble », a-t-il conclu.
À souligner que plus de 1 187 titres présentés par 94 auteurs ont offert au jeune public un rare moment de communion intellectuelle, lors d’une 31e édition de Livres en folie marquée par l’instabilité du pays et placée sous le thème « Kenbe liv ou », rendant hommage à Frankétienne, disparu en février, et à Christophe Philippe Charles, intellectuel engagé.
