Le collectif des associations sportives de la commune de Lascahobas attire l’attention des autorités au niveau du Ministère de la Jeunesse des Sports et de l’Action Civique (MJSAC), sur la transformation du Parc sportif St-Gabriel de Lascahobas en marché public. Elles pointent du doigt le maire de ladite commune qui serait à la base de cette situation.
Après plusieurs tentatives des responsables de la municipalité de la commune, ils ont finalement installé de force un marché public au parc St-Gabriel. Ainsi dans une lettre adressée à la titulaire du MJSAC, Niola Lynn Sarah D. OCTAVIUS, le Collectif des Associations Sportives de la Commune de Lascahobas lance un SOS pour demander à la ministre d’intervenir afin de forcer les autorités municipales à revenir sur cette décision.
Ils attirent l’attention des autorités sur les conséquences désastreuses et irréversibles de la suppression des activités sportives dans la commune. Tout en mettant l’emphase sur les bienfaits du sport dans la communauté et son importance majeure dans le fonctionnement de l’être humain.
Une action qui a conduit à la dévastation des matériels sportives de l’espace et la suspension des championnats de vacances d’été et interscolaires, le fonctionnement des écoles de football entre autres. De plus, la participation du club de deuxième division de la ville ASL dans les prochaines activités de la FHF reste incertaine.
Face à cette situation, la ligue de football de Lascahobas, des associations comme COFL, ASL, FEF, le tribunal sportif, radio Campêche et autres appellent au soutien de la ministre de faire entendre raison aux autorités municipales afin de reprendre de droit le parc St-Gabriel.
En attendant une action concrète des autorités, le collectif s’engage à lutter afin de forcer le maire de Lascahobas à libérer le parc sportif pour la poursuite des activités.
