En appel, ce mercredi 9 juillet 2025, l’équipe de l’Olympique Lyonnais a remporté une grande bataille devant la Direction Nationale du Contrôle et de Gestion (DNCG). La commission d’appel de la DNCG a validé le maintien du club rhodanien dans la première division française.
L’Olympique Lyonnais s’est fait très peur après la décision de la DNCG, le 24 juin dernier, pour reléguer le club en deuxième division. Cependant, les nouveaux dirigeants de l’OL, Michele KANG et Michael GERLINGER ont convaincu la commission fédérale de la DNCG et sont parvenu à garder la place dans l’élite du football français ainsi que le billet pour la League Europa.
Si l’on se fie aux différents quotidiens sportifs français, les dirigeants lyonnais et ceux de la DNCG ont passé plusieurs heures au siège de la fédération française de football. À leur sortie, ils n’ont même pas craché un mot aux journalistes.
Toutefois, dans un communiqué publié sur le site officiel du club, l’Olympique Lyonnais a confirmé son maintien dans le championnat français de première division.
« L’Olympique Lyonnais se félicite de la décision, rendue ce jour par la DNCG, de maintenir le club en Ligue 1. L’OL remercie la commission d’appel d’avoir reconnu l’ambition de la nouvelle direction du club, déterminée à assurer une gestion sérieuse à l’avenir », a écrit la direction de l’Olympique Lyonnais.
Par ailleurs, ce n’est que le début puisque le club rhodanien devrait dégraisser sa masse salariale : « La décision d’aujourd’hui constitue la première étape pour restaurer la confiance envers l’Olympique Lyonnais », a ajouté la direction.
